UPDATE: An older couple escaped serious injury when their car rolled over after a collision at Markwood on Wednesday morning.
Leading Senior Constable Jason Bray, of Moyhu police, said the crash occurred at 9.30am on the Snow Road as the couple travelled towards Myrtleford.
Their car, driving on the 100km/h road, and a mail delivery vehicle entering from the Carboor-Everton Road collided.
"That's caused it to leave the roadway and then roll on to its roof," he said.
"It certainly had the potential to be a lot worse, they were very fortunate."
The couple, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s, were taken to hospital in Wangaratta as a precaution while the other driver, a woman in her 30s was treated at the scene.
Leading Senior Constable Bray said police, ambulance, firefighters and State Emergency Service attended the scene.
"It took over an hour to clear the road and get traffic through there freely so until that time we had to stop it on and off," he said.
The circumstances of the crash are still being investigated and anyone with information is asked to contact Moyhu Police on (03) 5727 9206.
Leading Senior Constable Bray noted Snow Road attracted significant traffic.
"It's used all year around but just with the easing of restrictions, it's just going to get busier and busier," he said.
"Coming into the winter months as well with snow traffic and the conditions change, drivers take care and just be mindful of the fact our roads are going to get busier."
A separate crash in North Albury about 12.50pm Wednesday saw the two drivers, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s, taken to hospital for observation.
Acting Sergeant Matt Stephenson, of Albury Highway Patrol, said the collision occurred at the corner of Fallon Street and Jelbart Road between the man's red Hyundai Lantra and the white Nissan Pulsar driven by the woman.
The intersection had to be closed straight after the incident.
"It inconvenienced people for about 15 minutes so it was cleared up quite quickly and both vehicles towed," Acting Sergeant Stephenson said.
Police are still investigating the circumstances, with action pending.
