It follows Albury Council's proposal to build a partnership with the NRL premiers.
"Without a shadow of a doubt, I think it's really important," Storm general manager of football Frank Ponissi said.
"We've discussed it in the past, I've had a relationship with (Albury Thunder's) Mike Eden, we come from the same area in Manly, we've always discussed it, we played a game here in 2012, but we've never really done anything about it.
