Sentencing of an unlicensed man who drove around North Albury with a large open bottle of rum and cola beside him has been delayed while he undergoes drug rehabilitation.

Daniel Bruce Carter is also awaiting the finalisation of matters connected to his involvement in an aggravated burglary at Wagga. But before then, he is taking part in the program at the Calvary centre.
"Make it work, stay there. Make sure you get there on (time)," magistrate Miranda Moody told the West Albury man.

Carter, 35, of Jacaranda Street, has pleaded guilty to aggravated break and enter dwelling in company and steal, being carried in a conveyance without the consent of owner and drive while licence suspended.
Carter and a co-offender went to a service station in Wagga on July 8, 2019, about 5.30am.
The other man used a spanner to try to unbolt the electric gate wheel on the front door, then put the spanner under the door to try to force it open.
The pair took a safe off a wall and carried it to their ute, but as Carter drove off the safe fell on to the road.
Carter went back inside and grabbed a $4.49 tow rope off a shelf. He tied the rope to the safe and in turn to the ute.
As he drove around a corner the rope snapped and the safe again fell on the road.
They were trying to lift the safe back on to the ute when the police arrived, so the pair fled.
The unlicensed driving charge related to a more recent incident, when police saw Carter's car in Kurnell Street, North Albury, on October 23.
He was stopped in Logan Road. Checks revealed his licence was suspended until November 6.
Carter will be sentenced on April 14.
