Separate blazes in Benalla and Yarrawonga kept North East firefighters busy on Friday.
A Country Fire Authority spokesman said firefighters were called to a silo fire on Benalla-Yarrawonga Road, Benalla, at 11.41am.
"The contents of a 15-metre high, 40-tonnes silo at a wood chip facility had caught fire," he said.
"Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to determine hot spots and removed some of the silo's content to bring the fire under control by 3.47pm."
CFA fire trucks and volunteer firefighters from Benalla, Baddaginnie, Winton, Goorambat fire brigades responded to the incident, supported by District 23 support vehicles and personnel including the District 23 rehabilitation van.
Fire Rescue Victoria also supported CFA at the scene.
EARLIER: Nine Country Fire Authority vehicles attended a Yarrawonga blaze on Friday that took several hours to control.
A CFA spokesman said crews were called out at 10.14am to reports of a roof fire at Havenstock Drive.
"On arrival, crews found a single storey brick house was well alight," he said.
"Police and ambulance are on scene, and a fire investigation is also under way."
The CFA was supported by Fire Rescue Victoria.
FRIDAY, 12pm: Emergency services are responding to a house fire in Yarrawonga on Friday.
Fire Rescue Victoria issued an advice notice about the incident in Havenstock Drive, with the incident not yet under control at 11.25am.
"Smoke will be visible from nearby roads and communities," the warning said.
"There is currently no threat to the community, but you should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions."
People have been asked to keep nearby roads clear to aid the emergency response.
