During urgent business at Monday night's meeting, it was decided mayor Kevin Mack would write a letter to Albury Wodonga Health seeking clarification about plans for services in the Twin Cities.
Councillor Darren Cameron said with reports of a review being undertaken, but little clarity from the AWH board, it was important the city and its residents were informed.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"We're entitled not just as a council, but as a city and a community, to know what's going on with our health service and I think it's disappointing the board has thrown up the shutters in this fashion," Cr Cameron said.
Alice Glachan proposed the letter to the board be copied to other leaders and it was then agreed to include politicians Sussan Ley and Justin Clancy and the NSW and Victorian health ministers on its contents.
Earlier, councillor Henk van de Ven also expressed concern that the health service could be under threat.
He was speaking during an update on the Two Cities, One Community action plan.
"We need the hold course here in terms of our Two Cities, One Community initiative, especially with the attacks that are being made on the health service which is the bastion of our Two Cities, One Community ideology if you like," Cr van de Ven said.
