The building is presently under a lease agreement between council, as the landlord, and the Wodonga Institute of TAFE with the latter informing council of its desire to relinquish its lease to sell the building to the RSL and become a veterans and families wellbeing centre.
Last year, RSL Victoria received $5 million from the federal government for the development of a wellbeing centre in Wodonga.

TAFE contributed 100 per cent of the construction costs, with council supplying the land for about $2 million in value in exchange for an annual $1 peppercorn lease.
The building is presently vacant.
Wodonga Council chief executive Mark Dixon, a former Wodonga TAFE chief executive, will execute necessary arrangements if councillors agree to the lease transfer to the RSL.
