And the property market is only tipped to get more competitive as more homes go under the hammer, drawing buyers from both metropolitan and regional areas.
Stean Nicholls director Lachlan Hutchins said the real estate sold four properties consecutively on Saturday, all for a impressive amount.
"We have never seen it this strong or this amount of people moving to the area," he told The Border Mail.
"That is what is driving the sales up.
"And it isn't just buyers moving from Melbourne and Sydney, but pretty much all of the auctions on the weekend were sold to regional buyers.
"One was from up around the Bright area. So it is great to see regional buyers looking at Albury."
While Stean Nicholls always encourage vendors to sell their homes via auction, Mr Hutchins said with the market the way it is, it was the best option.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"At the moment you should be going to auction, just with the amount of people of wanting to buy," he said.
"We had 10 registrations for buyers at the Macauley Street auction which is a great indication to how many buyers are ready to buy at that level."
Other homes that sold at the weekend include 637 Sackville Street, Albury for $840,000, 569 Electra Street, Albury for $780,000 and 2/537 Kiewa Place, Albury for $635,000.
Homes are selling across the twin cities in a matter of days, with some going under contract the same day they are on the market.
Mr Hutchins said a rare Albury find is up for auction at the end of the month.
"It was built in 1954 by the Abikhair family and renovated in 2010 and this is the first time it has been for sale," Mr Hutchins said.
"It is an incredible house with immaculate presentation - it was built really well.
"We had 60 groups through on Saturday."
Mr Hutchins said he expects the interest to continue given the low interest rates and the ability to work from home.
