The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Hush Writer has been allocated top-weight for Friday's Albury Gold Cup.
The Japanese import has been handed 59kg and finished sixth in the Canberra Cup earlier this month first-up from a spell.
Hush Writer also proved ultra-competitive over the Sydney spring carnival.
The six-year-old gelding finished runner-up behind Mugatoo in the Newcastle Cup in September.
Hush Writer also ran one of the best races of his career in the Group One The Metropolitan when running fourth behind Mirage Dancer and Mugatoo.
The Kris Lees-trained Mugatoo held off the challenge of Russian Camelot to take at the $5 million All-Star at Moonee Valley last Saturday.

Hush Writer is also among the nominations for the Group One Sydney Cup at Randwick next month.
The Nick Ryan-trained Mahamedeis has 58kg and looks to be a certain starter in the $200,000 feature.
Mahamedeis arrived at the stables of Albury trainer Donna Scott last week and has worked on the track in the lead-up to the feature race.
Ryan was stable foreman for trainer Brett Cavanough before gaining his trainers licence in 2014.
Multiple Sydney premiership winning trainer Chris Waller could have a two-pronged attack on the cup with The Lord Mayor (56.5kg) and Miss Sentimental (54.5kg).
Recent Wangaratta Cup winner Declares War was also allocated 54.5kg and has won his past three starts for trainer Matt Cumani.
All other runners have been allocated the minimum weight of 54kg.
Meanwhile Lindsay Park stablemates So Si Bon and last year's Victorian Oaks winner Personal are set to gallop at Albury on Thursday.
The pair will have an important track gallop between the Albury Mile and City Handicap.
Limited tickets still remain for Albury Gold Cup day which has been capped to a crowd of 9800.
The club is encouraging patrons still contemplating attending the meeting to purchase their tickets online before Friday.
