The Criterion Hotel closed early last year with pub operators Australian Venue Co taking over the leasehold early this year.
The historic venue, with a TAB and bistro, is best known for its outdoor dining with a deck overlooking Lake Mulwala.

Australian Venue Co area manager Bart Furst welcomed hotel patrons back on Friday.
"The whole team is so excited to be part of the new chapter; it's a local institution, so it feels very special," he said.
Under venue manager Cassandra Jones and head chef Dylan Egan, the hotel will offer a menu of modern pub classics and some creative inventions, with plenty of options to suit the whole family and common dietaries.
