Horses who either led or raced handy won every race with backmarkers finding it tough to make ground in the home straight.
Several track and class records were broken with the track officially upgraded to a Good 3 from a Good 4 after race three.
Trainer Mitch Beer said on pace runners had a massive advantage.
"How the track was playing certainly was a talking point amongst participants on cup day," Beer said.
"When three track records are broken on the same day, it raises a few alarm bells.
"In saying that some class horses won on the day and you still have to have the ability to run that sort of time.
"It was a tough day to make ground which can happen quite often at Albury when the track is on the firmer side.
"At the end of day there wasn't too many shock results and the fancied runners were able to salute."

The club elected not to water the track after the first day of the carnival which led to the track upgrade of a Good 3.
"Hindsight is a wonderful thing," Beer said.
"If they put 5mm of water on the track and you get a shower on race morning, things can go the other way and you get a downgrade.
"With hindsight yes, the club should have watered the track.
"But after what happened the last two years, you can't blame the club for erring on the side of caution."
