MID-NORTH COAST:

* Communities have faced the worst flooding in almost a century

* 15,000 people so far ordered to evacuate from low-lying areas in Port Macquarie, Lower Macleay, Kempsey CBD

* Nepean River peaked at 12.85m at Menangle, in the southwest about 10pm Tuesday

* Nepean River at Penrith expected to peak around 7.7m metres early Wednesday

* Residents being warned to avoid the water after sewage stations were flooded

WESTERN NSW:

* About 400 people in low lying areas Moree told to evacuate at the Mehi River rises

* Parts of western NSW are predicted to get a season's worth of rain during the current emergency

ILLAWARRA AND SOUTH COAST:

* Rain continues with minor flood warnings for the Shoalhaven and Bega rivers and St Georges Basin

ASSISTANCE:

* Federal natural disaster arrangements offer $1000 per adult and $400 per child for those affected

* 1600 SES volunteers involved in rescue and clean up operations aided by NSW RFS and Fire and Rescue Services

* The Australian Defence Force running helicopter support

* Up to 1000 ADF personnel expected to be deployed for the cleanup
