English-born product Ross Dixon claimed the prestigious Cricketer of the Year award at Wednesday night's Hall of Fame function.

New City superstar batsman Shoaib Shaikh claimed the most points, but was ineligible due to suspension after he was banned twice.
"Shoaib was certainly the standout batsman, he had a terrific year," Dixon offered with good sportsmanship.
Shaikh polled 1211 points, with Dixon on 1200 during the regular season, followed by East Albury's Coby Fitzsimmons (1003), Albury's Mahesh Kodamullage (991) and Tallangatta's Matt Armstrong (979).
Albury captain Dixon also topped the bowling with 42 wickets at 11, while he added 350 runs with the bat.
"At one stage during the season Kade Brown spoke to me about the possibility of winning and some of the players to have won the award," Dixon revealed.
The 28-year-old was skipper of Lancashire under 19s, which included English rep Liam Livingstone.
Meanwhile, Shaikh won the batting with 836 runs at 60.
At district level, Mount Beauty's Paddy Dodd (779) won Cricketer of the Year from Barnawartha-Chiltern's Chris Hartshorn (743).
Yackandandah's Cooper Garoni hit 436 runs at 48, while team-mate Cameron Evans had 27 wickets at 11.

At Hume level, Holbrook's Corey McCarthy (967) won from Osborne's Ed Perryman (867), while McCarthy (25 wickets at 13) and Henty's Shannon Terlich (499 at 50) featured.
