Wangaratta Rovers toppled premiers Lavington in the Ovens and Murray Football League on Sunday.
The visitors kicked six goals to three in the final term to run away 13.12 (90) to 8.11 (59).
Jack Gerrish produced an inspirational piece of play early in the final term, beating three players and setting up the goal.
A strong crowd of around 1350 watched the first match for both teams after more than 18 months out of the game.
