Livewire Lachie Dale and Ryley Sharp kicked six goals apiece in the 23.18 (156) to 5.3 (33) mauling in front of the round's biggest crowd of around 3000 at Myrtleford's McNamara Reserve.
"I was happy with the ability for our boys to apply themselves for the four quarters and not stray from the way we wanted to play," co-coach Jake Sharp said.
The Saints are away to early season favourites Wangaratta under lights on Saturday night.
Sharp was delighted with the even spread from the 21.
"Lachie Dale was prominent up forward with Ryley Sharp, I thought Will Shem across half-back was really strong and, all in all, we had solid contributors across the ground," he offered.
Matt Dussin picked up from where he left off in the 2019 finals series with another excellent game, while the other good news for the Saints is a handful of their prominent recruits, including former VFL player Matt Munro and ex-AFL player Taylor Hunt, impressed.
The gutsy North was best served by Jackson Weidemann, George Godde and Ryan Polkinghorne.
Wangaratta demolished fringe finals contenders Wodonga Raiders by 96 points on Good Friday and it showed if teams are to match the Pies, they will need every player close to top form, particularly the profile names.

"It's exciting (coming up against Wangaratta), we're going to have some great competition between clubs this year and Wangaratta's right up there, they're probably leading the way at the moment, it's going to be good to lock horns with them and see where we're at," Sharp said.
