The Hawks and Hoppers both posted impressive round one wins against league powerhouses Thurgoona and Mitta United and have been tipped as early premiership contenders.
KSC got the better of Tallangatta in the 2019 elimination final, but experienced Hawk Callum Turner expects a close contest.
"They always play well against us and they're one or two up on us the last few times," Turner said.
"We're keen to find out where we're at. We had a good win week one but things will settle in.
"We want to keep building as a side, we're still pretty young and we're looking forward to seeing these kids develop.
"We've got some new players to the club and some elevations from the thirds in Ryan Bartel and Alex McDonald.
"The reserves is a really young side with four or five kids that will maybe play senior football this year.
"We gelled surprisingly well in round one considering there was five or six new faces, so hopefully we'll get a good start this week and keep that form rolling."

Tallangatta forward Kaine Parsons said there's a lot of excitement around the group.
"I think there's a few guys that have never played under lights before," he said.
"Kiewa and Tallangatta is always a rivalry anyway, so there's excitement every match, but we're looking forward to getting into it.
"Kiewa and Mitta are always the big ones, so to get them the first two rounds is pretty handy.
"It's only early, but it will be a good gauge to see where we stand. Hopefully there's a big crowd and it should be a pretty entertaining game."
Veteran Ben Hollands booted four in his return to senior football against the Mountain Men and shapes as a key matchup.
"He's going to be unreal for the team and particularly the young kids," Parsons added.
"His class around the footy is like you'd never see in the Tallangatta league."
It's the second night game to be held at Coulston Park since the upgrade to the lights with the Hawks six-goal winners against Dederang-Mount Beauty in 2019.
The under-14s play at 12.55pm, followed by under-17s at 2.25pm, reserves at 4.15pm and seniors at 6pm.
At half-time of the seniors, the Hawks will stage a kick for cash with $1000 up for grabs, followed by live entertainment after the final siren.
