The third and final installment of the Yackandandah Community Picnic Series will take place tonight, but there are plans to keep music on the town's calendar.
The Yackandandah Community Centre launched the series of events three months ago to showcase the town's talent and fill a void left by the cancelled folk festival.
Co-ordinator Candice McLeod said the series moved from the community garden in February to the Yackandandah Primary School.
"The first one was packed to the brim - it was quite unexpected," she said.
"We decided to change the location to the primary school for the next two, which worked really well as there was more room, a playground for the kids and the school could run food as a fundraiser.
"We're learning along the way how to make this as intimate an event as possible."
More than 200 people attended the first event after it was postponed due to wet weather.
The series could run with The Responsible Gambling Foundation funding.
Ms McLeod said volunteers had made the series possible and she was looking forward to future community events.
"There was so much behind-the-scenes work ... it's a testament to Yackandandah's community spirit," she said.
"There has been talk about further events through the community centre, and the grant application and funding for this project happened through the centre.
"I personally am planning towards having monthly events - my vision for the town is to have things of this nature on a regular basis.

Ms McLeod will perform tonight alongside female trio, The Myrtles and funk band, The High Street Shufflers.
The event will begin from 5.30pm - bring seating and a donation for wood-fired pizza.
