BROCK-Burrum signing Damian Cupido's footballing future will be decided by a national permit committee next week.
Cupido has had two clearances applications blocked by former club Corowa-Rutherglen with Roos' football manager Craig Spencer saying the club wanted to recoup a sign-on fee.
The Saints have appealed to the national permit committee due to the Ovens and Murray and Hume leagues being affiliated with different states.
The clearance wrangle means Cupido will miss Saturday's 2019 grand final replay against Osborne at Brocklesby.
Cupido was the Saints' main goalkicker in a recent practice match against Yackandandah and will be sorely missed against the premiership favourites.
Trent Castles is also yet to be cleared by Corowa-Rutherglen to Mangoplah Cookardinia United-Eastlakes with the outcome of next week's meeting set to determine the next step.
MCUE have the bye in the opening round next week.
