A NEW cheese is honouring the arrival of a special delivery for Milawa Cheese Co.
Milawa Cheese Co chief executive Ceridwen Brown and partner Matt have welcomed a son Cooper Gareth Brown with the release of a special edition cheese.
A total of 500 wheels of the new semi-hard, ashed cow's milk cheese, called Cooper, have been crafted by executive cheesemaker Cameron Rowan at the Milawa Cheese Factory.
Born on March 11, Cooper represents the third generation of the Milawa Cheese family.
In line with tradition Milawa Cheese Co founders David and Anne Brown previously named their popular ashed goat cheese after their daughter Ceridwen.
The Cooper cheese is a semi-hard, creamy-textured cheese that features veins of ash, made from local grapevines.

Aged for two months, it is similar in style to a French Morbier cheese, and its flavour profile pairs fresh acidic tones with a hint of smooth, caramel aftertaste.
"There is no doubt that cheese runs in our family's blood," Ceridwen Brown said.
"We're absolutely delighted to release this new Milawa Cheese Co variety in celebration of little Cooper's birth.
"While Matt and I are enjoying our early days of new parenthood, we hope everyone else can enjoy this fantastic cheese that Cameron has so masterfully created in Cooper's name!"
The cheese is available in 180g portions or 1.5kg wheels at the Milawa Cheese Co shop or online at milawacheese.com.au.
