Wangaratta posted its first win of the Albury-Wodonga Football Association senior women's season with a hard-fought 5-2 salute against Boomers at Glen Park on Sunday.

Amy Fuller opened the scoring for Wangaratta with a header from a corner in the 10th minute.
Bianca Mulqueen doubled the advantage when she intercepted a deflected pass and converted from close range in the 28th minute.
Alarna Parascos missed a one on one in the 37th minute, but moments later Bettina Schilg's long range free kick caught Wangaratta keeper Jacinta Findlay off her line to make it 2-1 at the half.
Boomers were full of run in the second stanza and found an equaliser in the 56th minute when Lauren Antonello got behind the defence and chipped the keeper.
Ruby Foottit almost put Wangaratta back in front straight after the resumption and Gabrielle Sinclair had a good one-on-one chance saved by Kiera Hayes.

Wangaratta snatched back the lead in the 68th minute when Mulqueen netted her second.
Mulqueen had a hat trick in the 74th minute with a brilliant individual goal which saw her cut through the Boomers' defence and put it beyond doubt at 4-2.
She scored a fourth late after a nice pass from Kaitlyn Broady to cap off the 5-2 win.
Albury United maintained top spot in the league with a 5-1 win against Albury Hotspurs at Jelbart Park.
St Pats had the bye.
The women's ladder after round five is: Albury United 12, St Pats 12, Albury Hotspurs 7, Wangaratta 6, Boomers 4.
