Owner of NewsXpress in Lavington Tim Taylor said big draws drive up customer numbers by 30 per cent.
"Once the jackpot hits from about $50 million onwards it really starts to be a substantial increase on a normal Thursday," Mr Taylor said.

While the excitement around Thursday night's jackpot mirrors big draws of the past, the plans people have for spending all that money are a little different.
"If people win, they know they can't travel overseas, so they're more likely to go around Australia with COVID still being really prominent around the world. It's a chance to put a bit of money back into Australian communities," Mr Taylor said.
Meanwhile, Mr Taylor has his own hopes - that his agency will sell the winning ticket.
"You did get a fair bit of a bounce along with people thinking you are the lucky shop, so that's pretty good," he said.
