Footage from multiple mobile phones showed the 37-year-old on the footpath outside Beer Deluxe on Saturday night.
He was surrounded by security guards.
A bouncer or employee picked the man up and threw him to the ground, causing the man to land on his head about 10.45pm.
Other patrons reacted with shock.
Police attended and issued the man with a move-on direction.
A spokeswoman said the man was arrested, and was later seen to have a cut on his head.
"The man allegedly failed to comply and was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where he was issued an infringement notice for continue intoxicated etc behaviour after move on direction," the spokeswoman said.
"Police later observed the man to have a laceration to his forehead.
"Inquiries revealed the man had allegedly been involved in an earlier altercation with security staff at the premises."

Albury police licensing staff are involved in the investigation and have attended the venue.
The hotel has been contacted for comment.
A spokeswoman said the venue was cooperating with police.
"We can confirm there was an incident at Beer Deluxe (on Saturday) night and we are fully cooperating with the New South Wales Police," the spokeswoman said.
"However we cannot provide further comment whilst there is an active police investigation."
The incident occurred at the front entry to the hotel.
The man appeared to be surrounded by five security guards before the incident.
Multiple patrons witnessed what occurred.
One man shouted "you can't do that" as the man was flung to the ground.
Another swore in shock after seeing the incident unfold.
The man had been ejected from the venue a short time earlir.
Noah Nyombe, who posted four videos of the incident on social media on Sunday night, described it as "horrible disgusting behaviour" from those involved.
Mr Nyombe was waiting in line at Beer Deluxe and filmed the incident as it unfolded.
"They put him to the ground and were pressing on his chest," he said.
"Next minute, the man in the puffer jacket threw him to the ground.
"It was pretty bad behaviour.
"They could have handled the situation way better."
It was unclear if the man was a security guard or pub employee.
Mr Nyombe said the victim had been "saying a few words" before the incident.
"It was nothing too explicit, just regular drunk words," he said.
"Once he got thrown, everyone was asking what they were doing."
The victim became agitated after the incident.
Social media users reacted with shock.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers.
