The Sydney Writers' Festival Local and Live program will be livestreamed into the Border venue from Friday, April 30, to Sunday, May 2, allowing residents participation without the travel.
Four sessions each day will feature guests such as Barrie Cassidy, Judith Lucy, Kerry O'Brien, Michael Robotham, Richard Flanagan, Laura Tingle, Helen Garner and George Miller.
Unlike many events forced to pivot online by the pandemic, Local and Live began as a pilot program in 2015 involving 10 locations. This year 54 streaming partners will take part from every Australian state and territory.
Border literary festival Write Around The Murray will present the Albury sessions, with director Ann-maree Ellis noting some people attend each year.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"It's really valued, people love it," she said.
"Barrie Cassidy is always a local favourite and he's doing the 10am session on Friday, Saturday and Sunday."
COVID requirements have reduced audience capacity and bookings are preferred.
"I think people who love WAM really appreciate being able to tap into the Sydney Writers' Festival and attend with a local audience," Ms Ellis said.
"It's a nice little warm-up for audiences and for us."
Write Around The Murray 2021 is September 15 to 19.
"It's really exciting to be cautiously planning live events again," Ms Ellis said.
"The Library Museum will still be the hub but we're pretty excited about working with the botanic gardens and the entertainment centre to use some bigger venues.
"It will also help with potential density restrictions with COVID restrictions."
