Two elderly residents remain in Albury Hospital in a critical condition after a truck crashed into the back of a trailer being towed by their car, causing it to roll several times.

Specialist police from Sydney's Crime Investigation Unit travelled to the region to investigate the crash which occurred on the Hume Highway near Burma Road, Table Top, about 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Murray River Police Commander Paul Smith said a Hino truck appeared to have crashed into a LandCruiser towing a trailer.
"That resulted in a fairly nasty accident with some serious injuries to both the driver and passenger in the LandCruiser who are currently undergoing treatment at Albury Base," Superintendent Smith said.
A 74-year-old woman and 80-year-old man, the passenger and driver of the LandCruiser, were treated at the scene before being taken to Albury Hospital, both in a critical condition.
The highway was blocked for some time with diversions in place.

The driver of the Hino truck, a 51-year-old man, was arrested and taken to hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
He was released pending inquiries.
Officers from Murray River Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
