Competition heated up in Albury Tennis Association's Tuesday ladies winter pennant this week with a well-fought encounter between Sands and Bourke the highlight in section one.

Sands held on in a thriller, 33-32, with sets split at three-apiece.
Sally Bulle, Jo Lewis, Karen Plested and Carol Sewell guided Bulle to victory against Wurtz with a dominant final two sets.
After four sets played, the teams were locked at two sets and 24 games each.

In section two, Smith's Abbey Patton, Angela Quirk, Joy Lee and Wendy Howard were a tad too strong for Scammell to win four sets and 28 games to two sets and 25 games.
Lee defeated Aylmore, four sets and 30 games to two sets and 19 games, with Denise Sheil the star.
In section three, Cannon got the Better of Jones.
After a loss last week, Dihood's Lauren Howard, Narelle Webb, Jan Dihood and Chris Denby bounced back and won convincingly against Huckstepp.
