Indigo Council says the lights have been tested and commissioned, meeting AFL standards for club competition and match practice.
This will enable extended use of the facilities and provides a number of new opportunities.
A 60-tonne crane was on site on ahead of Anzac Day to remove the old concrete poles and lights, to then erect the four new 30m galvanised steel poles with pre-assembled lights attached.
The old poles and lights were able to be re-purposed to a new home, which is understood to be somewhere in the Western District.
The Barkly Park lighting upgrade was funded with $100,000 from the state government, $40,000 from Indigo Shire and $25,000 from the Rutherglen Cats.
