While there was a 34 per cent increase in incidents reported by NSW councils during the height of COVID-19 pandemic, recent reporting has levelled out.
On-the-spot fines for illegal dumping can range from $7500 for individuals to $15,000 for corporations.
EPA NSW investigates environmental issues caused by dumping through its regional illegal dumping squads and councils receive reports for other dumping.
