Jonathan Carrodus said he had been using the drive through because his scooter would not fit through the doors of the restaurant.
"It's discrimination, 100 per cent discrimination, because this is a legal motorised vehicle and I can't go through the front doors because they're too narrow," he said.
"I have been through there so many times I've lost count and all of a sudden they've told me 'you can't come through here'."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Carrodus recently returned home from Melbourne's The Alfred hospital after having procedures on his left foot that mean he has to use the scooter.
Mr Carrodus said he'd had discussions with McDonald's head office and that he was under the impression he was allowed to use the drive through.
"I've already spoken to head office and they've said there's no problem," he said.
A spokesman for McDonald's said that in accordance with safety guidelines, motorised scooters were not allowed in the drive through.
"McDonald's crew members have previously advised the customer he is unable to use the drive-thru for safety reasons and have respectfully asked him to enter the restaurant instead.
"On this occasion, our teams engaged openly and respectfully with the customer and offered to meet him at the doors to provide any further assistance if required."
Mr Carrodus disputed these claims entirely, saying the manager had not been respectful at all.
"The manager point-black argued with me in front of other customers, in front of staff," he said.
"She was really snappy and aggressive."
Mr Carrodus maintained he was given permission to use the drive through.
He said that other McDonald's locations around the Border region had no problems with him using their drive through facilities.
"In Lavington, East Albury, Wodonga, I've never had a problem," he said.
"I've been to drive throughs at KFC and Hungry Jacks with no issues.
"What's the difference between me on a scooter and someone else on a Vespa?"
"I'm legally blind and I can't walk now.
"I'm just angry about it, I've dealt with discrimination all my life."
