The close-knit community has been left devastated by a number of suicide deaths and a comprehensive local response group has been activated to support those affected and co-ordinate an immediate and sustained response.
Clinical psychologist Dr Rob Gordon, an expert in recovery from traumatic incidents, will address parents, teachers and the broader community in separate sessions with community members invited to attend the session on Wednesday, May 19 at the Corryong Youth Club Hall at 7pm (dinner provided).
All stakeholders - including community services, education, police, health, bereavement services, hospitals, every layer of government and other critical agencies - are being "activated" to formulate an Upper Murray Postvention Plan to support those affected by suicide and strengthen prevention systems.
