With her father Paul Brock listed in Beechworth's football team of the century, and her mother Shireen a league netball best and fairest winner, Surrey grew up around the club.
"My parents both played here and so did my brother (Luke)," Surrey said.
"I started when I was about 15 and I'm still here.
"I've never really had a desire to play anywhere else."
Surrey reached her 250 senior game milestone last round against Tallangatta, five weeks after her partner Brenton reached the same feat at the club.
"He started playing senior football before I started senior netball," she said.
"He had an ankle reconstruction and missed three seasons, so I caught up to him.
"He grew up in Beechworth as well, so we've always known each other."
The special occasion has now become one of her most cherished career highlights.
"One of the biggest things I found from my 250th was that I got to play alongside girls I used to coach," Surrey said.
"When we first moved into the Tallangatta League I coached the under-11s, and those girls that I coached when they were only nine or 10 played with me on Saturday, which was pretty exciting."
Gina Garland, Sarah Robinson and her sister-in-law Eidenne Surrey are among some of the current A-grade players she mentored as juniors.
Since Beechworth joined the Tallangatta League as the Bushrangers from the Ovens and King League, Surrey has played in one finals series.
"That was definitely a highlight," she said.
"The girls that I played in that finals group with were a great group of friends, which adds to it as well."
Despite not yet reaching the success of some other clubs, Surrey admitted Beechworth's players continue to turn up year after year with passion and determination.
"I think that's what makes a club, that you can keep having those people coming back, and they're coming back because they love it," she said.
"We may not be successful, but we really enjoy ourselves and we have a lovely group of people."
Surrey has coached both juniors and seniors for the club and is this year co-coaching A-grade alongside Rachael Cavallin.

She admitted she finds the role rewarding.
"It definitely presents its challenges, but it's nice to know that you're doing your little bit to help out," she said.
"The biggest challenge has been keeping a consistent team together.
"Players tend to head off to university or go exploring, and they should.
"I think if we can keep a consistent team together for a few seasons, we'll have a bit more success."
Brenton is also at the helm this season after stepping up to coach the senior football side.
Now with their own kids, Cooper, 5, and Eleanor, 2, cheering them on, the duo are doing their part to strengthen the club for generations to come.
"That's part of the reason Brenton and I stick around, because we've got to be able to keep this club alive and see our kids come through and play netball and football," she said.
"We need to keep it going so the kids have something to play."
The Bushrangers will take on Wodonga Saints on Saturday at Beechworth in the only Tallangatta and District clash for the weekend, with all other teams having a bye round.
Beechworth has so far won one game this season, defeating Dederang Mt Beauty, while also drawing with Rutherglen.
Now with 250 games under her belt, Surrey is keen to add some more.
"I'd love to get to 300," she said.
"But I'll just keep playing for as long as I can."
