Bandits to reschedule Allen McCowan game following NBL1 postponement

With majority of the league's teams based in metro areas, the NBL1 announced round eight will join round seven in being put on hold.

The Bandits would have been taking on Sandringham at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.

Bandits' president Luke Smith said the club will wait for the revised draw before deciding when the McCowan game will be celebrated.

"A few games will be changed," Smith said.

"There's been back up plans there and they're putting them into action now.

"The positive thing coming out of the NBL1 at the moment is that all of our home games will still be there, they just might be jiggled around a bit.

"There might be an occasion where we'll have a Friday night home game and a Saturday night home game.

"It would be exciting having a double header at home with everyone here to support them."

Despite regional Victoria enduring a seven-day lockdown, majority of the Bandits have been able to continue training north of the Border.

"We've been pretty lucky this week," Smith said.

"The youth league have stopped training, but most of the players are residing in NSW.

"That's where we've been fortunate."

With some of the Bandits' senior players carrying niggling injuries this season, Smith admitted the forced rest has been good for some.

"They're getting a chance to recover a bit," he said.

"They will be pumped and primed and ready to go."
