He has been sidelined since round five after injuring his glute against Holbrook.
The dual Morris medallist missed several matches with a hamstring injury last year while playing in the AFL Riverina Championships.
Mackie said he was in no hurry to return to the line-up with the Tigers undefeated so far this season.
They face Henty on the weekend.
"I definitely won't play again this week," Mackie said.
"There is no use risking it, if I don't have to.
"It's frustrating not being able to play at the moment but you have to look at the bigger picture I guess."
Osborne have dominated the season so far with a 44-point victory over Lockhart is lowest winning margin.
