The league resumes from a two-round COVID hiatus on Saturday, with all matches played north of the border, which includes a double-header at Lavington Sports Ground.

If restrictions, such as a patron cap of 150 for Victorian venues, aren't lifted before next weekend's round, the league may adopt the same strategy as on Saturday.

But Sinclair admitted it's a short-term measure.

"Hopefully by the time we get to June 26, we can get back into Victoria," he said.

"At the moment, it's a week by week proposition and we'll deal with it based on the rules at any particular time.

"I don't think you could be doing this for the whole year."

Sinclair said the Lavington-Wodonga and Wangaratta-Yarrawonga double-header will be treated like a final.

"If it's successful, we'll see what we can do with double-headers going forward in the coming years," he said.

"If we can get 1500 to 2000 there, we'd be pleased."
