Missing goats near Griffith make sudden return to paddock

On May 26, the owner of a Benerembah property was left perplexed when he arrived to find his 40 boer goats had disappeared from his farm without a trace.

The farmer searched nearby properties and called for help on social media but wasn't able to track down the herd, which was worth about $6000 in total.

But at about 8am on Wednesday June 16, more than 20 days since the goats' dissapearance, the farmer arrived at his Brogden Road farm to find the goat herd had miraculously returned to his front paddock.

According to police, the farmer noticed the gate to the paddock had been opened in a different way to how he did it.

Police also noted that the herds' footprints did not begin until inside the paddock, suggesting they had been transported back there by a vehicle.

Police remain unsure about exactly what happened with the disappearance, but no further investigations will be taking place.

The farmer told officers he was appreciate to have his goats back.
