Drivers on the Hume Highway through Albury have taken to social media to post about an electronic traffic notice board, which has been displaying an image of a goat.
Doctor and journalist Amy Coopes spotted the goat on the sign, which used to display COVID-19 messaging about permits into Victoria.
"Someone has changed all the COVID19 permit signs heading into Victoria from NSW to goat's head motifs," she posted on Twitter.
"Honestly it made my morning."
Three people online asked for photographic evidence of the goat, which Ms Coopes said was difficult to supply while driving, and it was raining heavily.
However, a few hours later, she was able to take a picture.
It is unknown exactly why the goat image was displayed on the sign or how long tit had been there, but it is believed to have been showing for at least a few days.
It was reportedly removed at about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Twitter user T.W. said "can sadly state that it seems to have been fixed."
