Ms Marin, who is studying to be a trichologist, had no idea what was to come when she opened in July, 2020 - ahead of Victoria's second wave of COVID-19 infections.
"Some of us are in kayaks, and some of us are in dinghies ... but we're all in the same storm together," she said.
"We were locked down twice and had two border closures; it was hard for Albury people to come over here.
"It's been a challenging year, no doubt about it.
"With the snap lockdown ... you get told at 1 o'clock, 'That's it, from 6pm you're locked down', and you think, 'I can't trade for a week, what do I do?'
"But it's 12 months on and I'm still standing."
Ms Marin has expanded her business in the Hume Street building, with the support of hairdresser Kerryn Gilmour.
"To start off with just family and friends, to now, with new people coming in and also bringing in new people - it's great," she said.
"The support people have shown is fantastic.
"My oldest client is 93 and my youngest is getting their first haircut."
The barber of 30 years, who operates her business in an old-school fashion whereby clients can drop in and put their name on a chalkboard, said it could be difficult for people keeping up with ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions.
"It's a slow and steady race, like it is for everyone else - dealing with masks on, masks off," she said.
"It does tend to scare people away a little bit, and they go over to Albury. Right now, we're in the same boat.
"Everyone's got to sign in with a QR code and they're happy to do that.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"There are some oldies that come through who struggle.
"I just had to help a man this morning - he said his niece had put the app on his phone but he hadn't used it before.
"I said, 'Don't stress, I'll take you through it'.
"It's just what we have to do."
'That Barber' at 116 Hume Street, Wodonga is open for walk-in appointments Monday through to Friday, from 8.30am to 5pm.
