Victorian Senator Bridget McKenzie urged residents to look at guidelines before applications open on July 22.
"Start planning projects - you know your local area best," she said.
Workshops to assist applicants with the grant process will be available in person and online from mid-July.
Indi MP Helen Haines urged communities to get involved and noted the round was announced shortly after the Auditor-General praised the administration of the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.
The report found the $2 billion National Bushfire Recovery Fund was effectively coordinated.
There is money earmarked for each affected area in the $280 million fund.
