Wangaratta coach Dean Stone declared his team is much better than the one toppled by Albury as the heavyweights prepare for the most anticipated match of the year on Saturday.
The Pies will host the top of the table clash and this will be their last chance to potentially steal the minor premiership as they trail the Tigers by two wins with six games left.
"As a footy club, coach and players you want to test yourself against the best and they're the best, they're undefeated," Stone offered.
"We go into it with a really, really strong list and we're a different side than we were 10 weeks ago, our chemistry and synergy are a lot better.
We're a different side than we were ... we'll certainly be better.
- Dean Stone
"Our players that have come into the side are familiar with how we want to play, we'll certainly be better."
The Tigers clearly had the visitors' measure in round five, kicking six goals in the first quarter, even though the final margin was only 12 points.
The Pies recruited Northern Territory gun Abraham Ankers and former AFL forward Callum Moore and while they're strong Morris Medal contenders, they'll be even better now.
