Seiter is expected to miss the next four to six weeks after he suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs in the Saints' 54-point loss to Osborne last weekend.
He suffered the injury in a ruck contest after Tiger teenager Nick Madden's knee crashed into his rib cage during the third quarter.
Seiter initially left the field before bravely returning but has been in hospital since Sunday.
"I got hit and went off to catch my breath," Seiter said.
"I went back on for about five minutes and got tackled and knew after that I was in a bit of strife and sat the last quarter on the bench.
"I went into the hospital on Sunday and hope to get out today (Wednesday).
"It's the most painful injury I have copped and am still on morphine for the pain.
"There are six weeks before finals so I will definitely be back for finals."

Seiter said he had dished out plenty of knees to the ribs of opposition ruckmen but this was the first time he had been on the receiving end of the painful injury.
"I've dished out a few knees along the way but now I've copped one," he said.
"I used to laugh to myself a bit when I got somebody.
"But I realise now, it's no laughing matter.
"Full credit to the kid, he did a bit of a job on me but it was a fair hit and I respect that.
"It got me in the perfect spot and if I had of done it, I would have been proud of myself.
"So I take my hat off to him."
Seiter is the reigning Azzi medallist and was enjoying another outstanding season.
The dominant big man would have been among the leading fancies for the medal alongside Osborne midfielder Connor Galvin and Lockhart's Jordan Harrington.
Madden looks to have a bright future with the 201cm ruckman part of the GWS Academy and debuted for the Murray Bushrangers earlier this month.
Seiter said the talented teenager had the potential to be an AFL draft prospect.
"With his height and ability he has got the attributes to play at the elite level," he said.
Osborne remain undefeated and are enjoying one of the most dominant seasons in recent league history.
Seiter conceded the Tigers were raging favourites to go back-to-back but declared no side is unbeatable.
"When I was at Heidelberg we won a preliminary final by 70 points and lost the grand final by 50 points," he said.
"I don't think any side is unbeatable.
"Osborne have got a young side and have got young guys playing well under not much pressure.
"But they have to perform in the pressure cooker of finals when the blowtorch is applied."
