The board decided on Friday morning to cancel the scheduled round 13 for Saturday, July 17.
"The SS&A Ovens and Murray Football Netball League would like to advise that Round 13 has been cancelled," league chairperson David Sinclair said in a statement.
"Throughout consultation with each of our member clubs, consideration was given to the season being extended to make up for the loss of Round 13, however the League and the Clubs remain committed to the SS&A OMFNL Grand Final being played on Sunday 19th September.
"As the situation evolves further changes may be necessary, but at this stage no further comment will be made."
Victoria's five-day COVID lockdown from Thursday night meant all community sport was cancelled this weekend.
Given the O and M had earlier utilised the two split rounds to cater for another Victorian COVID lockdown starting in May, the league had run out of time to extend the season if it wanted to finish the year, as planned, on Sunday, September 19 - six days before the AFL grand final.
