Victoria's snap five-day COVID lockdown, which came into effect last Thursday night, and the revelation that infected Sydney removalists had stopped at a Jindera petrol station on Saturday, July 10 forced the league to abandon last Saturday's round.
A number of clubs suggested they would have been so severely understrength, due to the fact their Victorian-based players couldn't play per the restrictions, they faced the prospect of forfeiting games.
The league will now host a midweek board meeting.
"We're going to gather as much information as we can from clubs before the meeting," league vice-president Philip Bouffler explained.
"Hopefully more news has unfolded, it's really going to depend if there's any positive tests from Jindera and what happens with the lockdown in Victoria."

The lockdown was due to end Tuesday night, but with 16 cases in Victoria for the 24 hours to Sunday morning, that prospect is in doubt, although in better news, there have been no confirmed cases following the listing of two exposure sites in Jindera and North Albury.

"Once we have as much information available to us as we possibly can, we will make a decision that is in the best interests of players, clubs and supporters," Bouffler added.
