A SECOND Albury youth cafe sited in Lavington or Thurgoona has been proposed by a council election candidate.
Jess Kellahan put the idea to The Border Mail on Tuesday as part of action she would like the council to undertake to assist the city's youth.
Ms Kellahan also wants advocacy for in-patient youth mental health services and a commitment to meaningful learning for youngsters.
The Albury resident, and teacher at Wodonga Senior Secondary College, is No.2 on the ticket headed by former Albury mayor Stuart Baker.

Others from No.3 in the line-up, which was unveiled this week after Mr Baker, previously flagged his candidacy are Stephen Mamouney, Danielle Cale and Louise Pemberton.
Mr Mamouney is an accountant who is part of the water polo community and has been a key in organising The Big Splash mental health fundraiser from its 2014 start.
Mrs Cale is an Albury High School teacher with a Bachelor of Business as well as a Bachelor of Education who believes it is important to hone employable and civic-minded young people.
Dr Pemberton is a virologist and senior lecturer at Charles Sturt University at Thurgoona.
"I recognise the need for local governments to invest in sustainable practices for future generations and to improve overall community and environmental wellbeing," she said.
Mr Baker said Ms Kellahan, who is 39 and has organised her school's mini Winter Solstice, had been chosen as No.2 in recognition of her enthusiasm and community passion.
He added that he expected Mr Mamouney would collect a sizeable number of below-the-line votes given his profile in Albury.
