Jindera has defeated Henty by 24 points in Hume League

The Bulldogs are out of finals contention, but they lifted after the break and the visitors couldn't match their intensity in the 6.11 (47) to 3.5 (23) win.

"We put it on the boys at half-time to really hook in and have a crack," delighted coach Andrew Wilson offered.

"There was a bit of a breeze and that was the scoring end, so we had to make sure we capItalised on that and commit to it."

The rain swept in during half-time as the home side restricted the Swampies to just one point in the second half.

In fact, it was hard to recall the ball getting within 20m of Henty's goal at any stage outside that behind in the second stanza.

"We were a bit flat-footed around the contest and they had a couple of blokes who were moving at the contest and managed to get the ball moving," Henty's co-assistant coach James Ellis explained.

The Swampies were missing four of their best players due to Victoria's COVID lockdown.

Coach Heath Ohlin, midfielders Sam Scott and Dylon Simpson, along with the club's best backman in Beau Connell are based in Victoria and therefore not allowed to cross into NSW for sport.

"I wouldn't put the loss down to them not playing, I'd put it down to the fact we were not quite where we wanted to be," Ellis revealed.

Jindera kicked the first goal after five minutes when James Vogel produced a 'reverse banana', which was a superb effort.

Mitch Lawrence showed tremendous courage for the second major, running backwards towards two players, but still holding the mark and converting from 25m.

The Swampies seized the initiative in the second quarter with Ethan Muller landing a 40m set shot to cut the deficit to three points, but Bulldogs' captain Ryan Speed was gifted a goal from a 50m free kick.

Henty's strongly built Jarrad Farwell rounded out the scoring when he unleashed from 50m in the slippery conditions to reduce the deficit to a point at half-time.

From there though it was all Jindera as its tackling pressure simply never allowed the Swampies to gain any momentum.

Lawrence and Ollie Brown were outstanding in the midfield for the victors, Jesse Harris also excelled, while Nathan Chamings sacrificed his game to restrict forward Shannon Terlich.

Fletcher Macreadie was the Swampies' best, rebounding off the half-back line and impressing in the midfield, while Muller, Ellis and Brayden Skeers also featured.
