Clubs to vote on whether to resume play this weekend

The competition has missed the past fortnight due to Victoria's lockdown.

The league held an executive and president's meeting on Wednesday night to discuss the pros and cons of playing on the weekend.

The two biggest hurdles to overcome in regards to a return to play is Victorian based clubs haven't been able to train for a fortnight.

Spectators are also unable to attend matches until restrictions are further eased.

Some clubs have expressed concerns that players could be susceptible to soft-tissue injuries after the short layoff.

Clubs are also reluctant to play without spectators because of the financial implications of having no gate, canteen and bar.

The league also missed a fortnight of play earlier in the season.

The finals series is set to commence at Sandy Creek on August 21.
