COVID-19 restrictions led to the postponement of the event in May and again in July, before being officially confirmed on Friday morning that it would be held on October 2 and 3.
Winton isn't the only event to be given a new date with the championship's premier event, the Bathurst 1000, pushed back to November 4-7, which will be followed the Sydney SuperNight (November 19-21), before the season wraps up with the Gold Coast 500 from December 3-5.
But it's come at a cost with races in Perth and New Zealand moved removed from the calendar due to ongoing border concerns.

"We are thrilled to have locked in our return to Winton, and working towards locking in another event a few weeks later," Supercars CEO Sean Seamer said.
"These are challenging times for all sporting codes, which is why we have had to remain flexible with our calendar arrangements and make significant changes where required.
"For now, our goal is to make sure we deliver some amazing racing over the rest of the 2021 championship."
The Super2 Series will feature at Winton, Bathurst and the Gold Coast.
