The red Toyota lost control on David Street about 12.30am on Friday and crashed through a fence at JC King Park.
A man reported on social media that he had nearly been struck by the car as it lost control.
The vehicle knocked over a bench used by netballers and damaged a retaining wall.
The impact of the crash forced the bench about five metres away from its foundations, coming to a rest on a court.
Poles and grass were also damaged by the collision.
Paramedics assessed the driver at the scene.
He reportedly injured his nose, which was bleeding.
Police attended the area, which contained vehicle debris including a Toyota badge and red panels.
The damaged car had to be towed away.
A photograph posted on social media of the apparent driver showed a man wearing dark clothing with bleeding to his face.
The matter is under investigation.
