Presently under the care of Sunshine Coast based trainer Billy Healey, Alligator Blood ran a blistering 49.23 in the 850m trial with jockey James Orman aboard.
But it was the slick last 600m run in 32.52 that had part-owner Allan Endresz beaming the most.
"The fear factor was how the horse had come back after surgery for kissing spine," Endresz said.
"We were blown away by the time that he run which was a personal best.
"32.52 for the last 600m is incredible because 'Al' has never broken 33 seconds in any of his previous races, jump outs or trials.
"Jimmy said 'Al' wasn't fully extended and couldn't believe how quickly he had run."

Alligator Blood is set to have another trial on the Sunshine Coast on August 10 before making his highly anticipated return to the track.
The Australian Guineas winner has been off the scene since running unplaced in the Golden Eagle at Rosehill in October.
The five-year-old gelding will be transferred to the stables of Gai Waterhouse and Adrain Bott ahead of his spring campaign.
Endresz said COVID-19 restrictions made it difficult to map out a definite plan for the spring other than the Cox Plate will be his main mission.
"Plan A is running in a couple of Group 2 races over 1200 or 1400 in Sydney before tackling the Group One Epsom and then heading to Melbourne for the Cox Plate," he said.
"Plan B is a 1200m Group 3 in Melbourne into the Sir Rupert Clarke, into the Toorak Hcp and then the Cox Plate."
