Having already navigated five lockdowns owing to the global pandemic, Victorian operators are still impacted by evolving Border Bubble restrictions at short notice.
The co-owner of Wodonga restaurant Italy on a Plate, Pierina DeGrazia, said inconsistencies between state restrictions hit Victorian businesses hard over 18 months.
Ms DeGrazia said they had a big Albury clientele, which was cut off from them under most reincarnations of the Border Bubble.
"We're a Border community and it should be the same rules for both sides if we're in a Border Bubble," she said.
"It's breeding resentment and turning Albury and Wodonga to us against them.
"I feel for businesses in Yarrawonga-Mulwala and Echuca-Moama who are going through the same thing."
