Alpine Health has confirmed only Alpine Shire residents with COVID-19 symptoms or those directed by the Health Department need to isolate until they receive their test results, simplifying the testing process for asymptomatic 'off mountain' residents keen to head up to the resorts.

Chief executive Nick Shaw said alpine communities had been responding well to the requirement.
"They've been great," he said. "We've been testing now for a long time and we see people being really responsible about their health and the health of their communities.
"When people are crook and feeling unwell and have symptoms, they're coming to us and isolating until their results come back.
"And we're now seeing a really good response for asymptomatic people as they come to us for testing so they can access the ski fields."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Mr Shaw said about 2500 tests had been done across all of Alpine Health's testing sites since the resort testing announcement was made.
"We're averaging around 400 a day, but that's quite significant for us," he said.
"[Previously] across all of our testing sites it may have been 60 or 70 a day.
"So we've seen a significant increase in the number of people coming to us."
Mr Shaw said the testing requirements were "stretching resources", but keeping the community safe.
He said the community had been patient with test results taking about 24 to 72 hours to be processed.
