G'day, fishos.

You know all the stuff I wrote about last week, about access to Victorian waters for local fishos in the "bubble", well surprise, surprise, it's all changed again, so forget it!
Very sad to say, Victoria is in another lockdown!
If you live in NSW, go for your life in NSW but Victoria is a no-go zone.
I suppose we just have to get the jab, stay positive and test negative.
That's the only way things will improve.
FISHING REPORT
Dartmouth (71 per cent): has jumped a bit in the past week or two, as have most dams.
With those rises, there's more floating timber about, so with that in mind, keeping your eyes open on all dams would be a good idea.
Dart local, Bob Dower, tells me they were on the chew up that way.
He landed five the other day, all on a combination of lead line, fenders and Tassie Devils, without going past the narrows.
Hume Dam (87 per cent compared to 51 per cent last year): continues to rise and fish well.
The continual rise in level may slow a bit, though, if predicted releases take place this week.
Forecasts are for releases to jump from 600 meg to 3000 meg a day from Monday through to Thursday, so if you like to fish a shallow river, you'd better have a crack over the weekend.
Good idea to keep a bit of air space, really, particularly when you consider the forecasts of a reasonably wet spring.
Trout fishos continue to pick up some rippers with the odd three kilogram fish amongst them but there's still a bit of time between them in most cases.
We are continuing to get photos and stories of good bags of reddies too, as well as hearing of an occasional yella and cod.
The reddies might have slowed a little, but there is still plenty of quality fish being caught.
Longer days inevitably bring warmer water and that generally means more bait activity around the edges, it's nearly that time of the year.
I'm sure it won't be too many sleeps before we hear of a few yellas being angled around the shallower areas and maybe a couple of cod being picked up as well.
Murray River: above Hume dam is running pretty hard, with a fair bit of colour to it, making fishing difficult.
It's the exact opposite below Hume Dam, with only 600 meg coming out.
There's been a few trout spun on gravel bars but as mentioned above, predictions are for a much higher river this time next week, as releases will increase to 3000 meg.
Navigating the river will be a whole lot easier and the crays should love it.
Lake Mulwala: is a tad dirty after all this rain but there's still the odd fisho finding one or two, tough going though.
Blowering (99 per cent): has been lowered a little but that hasn't improved the fishing.
It's still pretty tough up that way too.
Burrinjuck (93 per cent): is certainly the better option, with some good reports of quality cod being caught in reasonable numbers.

The super keen fishos are doing the swimbait/surface thing in the darker hours, but there's also a few being trolled up the old way, just dragging large hard bodied lures around likely looking banks and snags.
Cod are being caught in reasonable numbers ...
Eildon (69.7 per cent): will be well worth a shot once things open up again.
Cod were being caught in reasonable numbers and, from the reports we've been getting, the Big River arm is one of the hot spots for trout fishos trolling Tassies.
Jindabyne (76.9 per cent): is the pick of the Snowy lakes.
There's been a couple of decent reports of solid fish being trolled up on Rapalas, Double Clutches, CC Minnows and Tassies.
Hope you can get out amongst it this week.
