NSW police have charged a Victorian man and a teenager with drug offences and escorted them back to their home state to receive a COVID-19 fine.

The Rural Crime Prevention Team searched a ute with Victorian number plates on the Cobb Highway at Wanganella on Friday evening and allegedly discovered cocaine, cannabis and ketamine.
The 40 year old man and his passenger, a 17 year old boy, were arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station.
They were both charged with three counts of possess prohibited drug, supply drug indictable quantity, possess prohibited weapon, not register companion - animal, not identify companion - animal, and dog not wear collar.
The pair were granted strict conditional bail, with the man to appear in Deniliquin Local Court in October, while the teen will face a children's court.

They were among five people in the Murray River region over the weekend charged in Operation Brushwood, a rural crime prevention operation.
The operation targeted illegal hunting, trespass and other crimes in regional and remote areas.
Throughout the operation, officers conducted property and safe firearms storage inspections and checked on paperwork to accompany the movement of livestock.
Police conducted three Firearms/Weapons Prohibition Orders checks, straying livestock inspections and 40 vehicle stops. They issued 24 infringement notices.
Five people were charged in total for various offences, including for firearm offences and for possessing a knife in public place.
